The Bluest planet

 Neptune

This is a dark and cold ice giant whipped by supersonic winds. Neptune is the eighth-most distanced planet in our solar system. Neptune is more than 30 times far from the sun compared to earth. It is so far from the sun that the brightness of earth is 900 times more than that planet.

Distance from the sun: 30 au / 4.475 billion km

Discovered: 23 September 1846

Orbital period: 165 years

Surface area: 7.618 billion km²

Planet type: Ice giant

Formation

It was formed in the same way as Uranus was formed about 4.5 billion years ago. Neptune was closer to the sun compared to Uranus at that time but now it has moved farther and become the farthest planet in the solar system.

Moon

There is a total of 14 discovered moons till now. The largest moon is Triton, discovered on 10th October 1846 by William Lassell. The surface temperature reaches up to -235 degrees celsius.

Surface

Neptune's surface is mostly gasses like helium, methane, and hydrogen and the solid surface is ice. If we enter deep into it we can only find water. The temperature there can reach up to -201 degrees Celcius.

Atmosphere

The methane gas in the atmosphere makes the planet look blue-green. The predominant blue color of the planet is a result of the absorption of red and infrared light by Neptune's methane atmosphere. Winds there can be 3 times stronger than Jupiter's. The wind carries frozen methane at the speed of 2,000 km/h.

Rings

Neptune has five rings and four prominent arcs discovered till now. The ring starting from the planet is Galle, Leverrier, Lassell, Arago, and Adams. liberté (liberty), Egalité (equality), Fraternité (Fraternity), and Courage are the prominent arcs.
