Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART)

Image
DART DART is a planetary defense-driven test of technologies that will be preventing an impact on the earth by a Hazardous asteroid. DART stands for Double Asteroid Redirection Test. This DART is launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on 24th November in the California Vandenburg space force base. Its goal is to slightly change the motion of the potential asteroid.  Two different views of the DART spacecraft. The DRACO (Didymos Reconnaissance & Asteroid Camera for OpNav) imaging instrument is based on the LORRI high-resolution imager from New Horizons. The left view also shows the Radial Line Slot Array (RLSA) antenna with the ROSAs (Roll-Out Solar Arrays) rolled up. The view on the right shows a clearer view of the NEXT-C ion engine.  https://www.nasa.gov/planetarydefense/dart. It is the first planetary defense test. NASA is trying something which has not been done before with a spacecraft by anyone.  The DART will be impacting the Hazardous asteroid at a speed ...

NASA The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) was founded on 29th July 1958 (USA) by Dwight D. Eisenhower. NASA is an independent agency of the U.S federal government responsible for the space programs. It is in charge of US science and technology that is to do with spacecraft. What does NASA Do ? NASA does lots of work related to space and makes satellites that help astronomers and scientists study the Earth. NASA shares all the information till discovered and discussed. NASA is studying the solar system and even farther away. NASA launched Voyager 1 which is been drifting away from the solar system and still is connected with data. The people who do not work at NASA can also use NASA ideas and make new inventions.     Where is NASA ? The headquarters of NASA is in Washington D.C. There is a total of 10 NASA centers in the United States of America. Being an astronaut is the best-known job to get in NASA, but they make a small part of the workforce....
