The Planet With Seven Rings

 Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun and the second biggest planet in the solar system. Saturn is also a ball of gas like Jupiter and it is mainly composed of hydrogen and helium. It is the furthest planet visible from the Earth by the unaided human eye.

Distance from sun: 1.434 billion km

Orbital period: 29 years

Surface area: 42.7 billion square km

Radius: 58,232 km

Mass: 5.683 × 10^26 kg (95.16 M⊕)

Formation

The Saturn formed about 4.5 billion years ago when the swelling gasses and specks of dust were collected together by gravity to form a ball of gas. About 4 billion ago the Saturn took its current position and started revolving around the sun in a fixed path.

Layer

Saturn also does not have any layer inside it like Jupiter as it is a gas giant.

Atmosphere

Saturn is blanketed with clouds that appear as faint stripes, jet streams, and storms. The planet has many different shades of yellow, brown, and grey. The pressure of the atmosphere there is as much when you dive deep into the water - its pressure is so high that it squeezes gasses into liquids.

Rings

Saturn has seven rings which are made up of ice, rocks, and clouds of dust. The rings from 1 to 7 are named as rings A, B, C, D, E, F, G.

Moons

Saturn is home to a vast array of intriguing and unique worlds. From the haze-shrouded surface of Titan to crater-riddled Phoebe, each of Saturn's moons tells another piece of the story surrounding the Saturn system. Currently, Saturn has 53 confirmed moons with 29 additional provisional moons awaiting confirmation.

Facts

i) You can not stand on Saturn as it is mostly made up of gas.
ii) A day on Saturn is 10 hours and 14 mins.
iii) The day 'Saturday was named after Saturn.
