Our Blue And Green Planet

Earth

Earth is the third rocky planet from the sun and the only planet with life, and also known as the astronomical object. 29% of the surface island and 71% of the surface is water bodies. The distance from the sun is 149.5 million km. The mass of the earth is 10^24 kg. The diameter is 12,742 km. The surface area is 510.1 million km. Our atmosphere is almost made up of nitrogen and oxygen that we breathe in.

Formation

The Earth was formed by dust and swirling gasses 4.6 billion years ago. That time it was full of hot molten lava. Now it is full of grasslands, green forests and many water bodies.

Layer

1) Inner core: It is a dense hot ball that is mostly iron. The temperature is 6,000 degrees Celsius. The diameter is about 6,970 km.

2) Outer core: It is a fluid layer mostly composted with iron and nickel. This layer is about 2,400 km (1,500 mi) thick. The temperature is between 4,500 and 5,500 degrees Celsius (8,132 and 9,932 degrees Fahrenheit)

3) Mantle: The mantle is 84% of the mass of the earth. It is the solid bulk of the earth that has a thickness of  2,900 km (1,802 mi).

4) Crust: The crust is the outermost shell of the earth. It contains the 4 realms, the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. Lithosphere-land, hydrosphere-water, atmosphere-air, biosphere-living organisms.

The moon

It is the fifth-largest moon on the solar system and only the natural satellite of Earth. The moon helps the earth to keep balance and also helps to stabilize the climate. Its distance from the Earth is 1.283 light seconds. The moon has only one thin layer of the atmosphere called the exosphere. The Diameter of the moon is 3,474.2 km. The moon is about 4.53 billion years old.

The layer of the moon

Like earth, the moon also has the core, mantel, and crust.

1) The inner core: It is the densed metallic core which is composed of iron and a small amount of nickel. 480 km is the diameter of the inner core.

2) The outer core: It is a fluid metallic core that has a diameter of  660 km.

3) The mantel: The mantle of the moon is rich in iron, and is about 1,000 km below the surface.

3) The crust: It is covered with a rocky layer that is about 60 to 100 km thick

Facts on the moon and Earth!

i) The moon always shows earth the same face.
ii) The moon is the second densest satellite.
